I. Job Summary
The Operations Specialist provides clerical and administrative support to MRF Managers. This position assists in coordinating all aspects of daily operations, including recording and reporting data. The Operations Specialist also assists in troubleshooting and resolving safety, service, and operational issues by performing the following duties
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
·Reviews clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
·Maintains contact with customers and outside vendors.
·Answer telephone and route to appropriate person or answer question of caller.
·Perform cashiering duties - make change, issue checks, and issues receipts or tickets to customers.
·Communicate over various radios with plant employees and truck drivers.
·Weigh vehicles on truck scale.
·Open office, turn on scale, and open cash register for day's activities.
·Prepare bills of lading/loading sheets and tags for outgoing plant loads, as well as track outgoing loads to assure timeliness.
·Daily entry of receivers and bills of lading into RETI system.
·Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.
·Greet and direct customers and sales representatives upon arrival at facility.
·Sort and file records.
·Operates office machines such as computer, typewriter, copier, fax, postage and calculating machines.
·Review Kronos payroll time clock punches.
·Back up other office personnel.
·Order office supplies.
·Communicate with railroad, tracking allocation, and timely submission of bills of lading to railroad as well as mills.
·Continues the duties and responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative, if applicable.
·Deals with daily office issues and communicates, as needed, with the MRF Manager.
·Continues to participate in Saturday coverage by rotation with the other office employees, if applicable.
·Assists in the orientation of new employees.
·Approach all encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
·Creates, distributes, and closes-out customer tickets on a daily basis.
·Assists with the processing of payments and other financial tasks as necessary.
·Assists in the implementation of operational projects as needed.
·Communicates with customers about service issues as needed.
·Communicates with employees about scheduling and work assignments as needed.
·Perform other duties as assigned.

A. Education and Experience
High school degree or GED; plus one to three years’ related experience
